The proposed verandah (8mx16m ) will provide more under cover space for the community managed , recovery and resale of usable items being diverted from landfill at the Surf Coast Shires, Anglesea Landfill and Transfer Station, Coalmine Rd, Anglesea.

The “beneficiaries”are :
1. Individuals/families/ community groups/ charities from surrounding municipalities ( G21 Region) seeking inexpensive, needed items.
2. Environment – less landfill / greenhouse gases, more re-use of items (embedded energy savings on remanufacture). Increased public awareness/motivation to improve waste management practices.
3. Shire – less drain on community grants funds (freeing up funds for other services).
4. Some 14 local community groups currently earn income for voluntarily operating the resale shed which assists to advance their activities /programs.
Eg “All Aboard” disability services use the shed for their program
5. The whole community and the environment

Keep a lot of reusable goods from Land fill. Also supports community organisation who volunteer to man the shed .
We need more undercover space .

This is a great community resource to provide cheap "stuff" - and keeps waste from landfill. Well supported by community organisations who volunteer. Extra space for shelter would be great.

Is doing a great job of reducing land fill and providing support for local organisations.

Tip shed is very popular with all to come to have a browse and funds earned help many community groups that all participate in a roster system of running a wonderful recycling program

One of the most successful community projects with which I've been involved. Since its inception the Anglesea Re-Cycle shed has turned over tonnes of recyclable materials for the voluntary organizations who man it. If this application for funding is successful, undercover storage space will be increased with the benefit of more items on display and hence greater turnover. The secondary benefit will be less materials committed to landfill.
