Park Ridge Primary School strives to create an inclusive environment. Our vision is to redevelop areas of the existing garden/playground. When completed there would be:
• A soft-fall fitness track where students of different abilities are able to exercise together
• An inclusive playground, including a sensory/de-escalation area, where students with disabilities are able to play and integrate with other students.
Playgrounds are not just for fun, they are also for learning, problem solving, motor skills and socialising. Inclusiveness provides a better quality education for all children and is instrumental in changing discriminatory attitudes.

PRPS have been challenged with the enrolment of two students who are wheel chair bound this year. Creating an inclusive playground will strengthen our school community and benefit ALL children. This process is fundamental in changing the way a school community supports and addresses the individual needs of each child. Respect and understanding grow when students of diverse abilities and backgrounds play, socialise, and learn together. With our existing playgrounds, neither students are able to have these interactions and feelings of being included in the playground.
