This project will create a revitalised neighbourhood space at the Eppalock community hub, located at Eppalock Primary School. Inclusive, modern play equipment will be installed at the existing community facility (currently utilised by CFA, Sedgwick/Emu Creek cycle route users, Axe Creek Community Kitchen, Landcare, Playgroup and the local School). The new play equipment will allow mixed aged, gender and abilities play throughout the year and provide an opportunity to connect families, residents and cultures.
We will build a large outdoor, all-weather area suitable for sport, community gatherings, markets, food swap, fundraising events and an option for a Neighbourhood Safer Place.

The Eppalock Community Hub includes the areas Eppalock/AxeCreek/MyrtleCreek/EmuCreek/Sedgwick/Sutton Grange/Mandurang/MosquitoCreek and Longlea. This area is experiencing huge development pressure and population growth (Strathfieldsaye Development Corridor).
There is no outdoor covered area available in our district and the existing play equipment is over 30 years old and inadequate. It does not cater for the multi ages and abilities that exist in our community.

Peri-urban areas like the Eppalock Community play a vital role in enhancing urban sustainability. They create opportunities for connectedness between families, individuals, generations, and cultures. People will come to play, attend concerts, seek shelter, exercise, create, imagine and explore.

This is an opportunity to enhance the immediate community & surrounding communities. Eppalock PS is small compared to other schools, but extremely strong in its commitment to the community that comprises of 3rd/4th generation farmers to ‘tree changers’ young & old. A location to bring people together for many reasons to give & gain information through communication & support. 💜

An amazing community and they are so hard working at continuing to build strong bonds of community. A space like this is essential, the grant would ensure it happens sooner and the young ones there now not miss out on using it.
