A simple and easy to use online platform that redistributes surplus resources in our community to others who need it, redirecting things from landfill. People in the neighbourhood will post items that they have to give away for others in the community to be able to receive these and then there’s a messaging service to arrange the pick up. The platform will be address verified so that users can determine the distance that they would like the item to be offered to and a search function that will allow people to find things that they need.

This platform will provide our community with the opportunity to redistribute physical resources, reducing our environmental impact, look after less-advantaged community members, create in-person community connections with pick up/delivery of items and the opportunity to build relationships that may help in other ways. It will allow people with limited financial resources the opportunity to benefit from not needing to buy things, and reduce the resources required to run our lives. If the pilot goes well, it could be expanded to include other offerings from the community which would further build community connections and resilience.
