Transform the redundant Parent Centre at EPS into a vibrant shared community kitchen space to compliment the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.

Community groups include:
- Grades prep to six students
- Local Scouts and Guides
- Emerald Kindergarten children
- Emerald Community Harvest Share group
- Other community-minded groups

Key activities:
- Curriculum based educational sessions on harvesting, preparing and sharing food with students and community members
- Passing down of local knowledge to children
- Indigenous education on the traditional customs and food of the Wurundjeri people
- Hosting Community Dig-In Café once a year

The kitchen will bring together community members through:

The Emerald Community Harvest Share - Everyone welcome to share food, recipes, ideas, and local knowledge about sustainable practices.

Curriculum connected learning - Lessons connecting abstract curriculum content to authentic real-world contexts and local community businesses (eg. The General and Emerald Fruit Barn).

Indigenous education. Many sessions taught, with assistance from Wurundjeri educators, to pay respect to and educate the community about indigenous foods prepared and harvested in a sustainable manner, from our ‘Bush Tucker’ garden. The history of the land we live on and its use will be discussed through storytelling!

A Stephanie Alexander kitchen would be a great asset to the school. I have worked in them before and the overall participation from the students was overwhelming.
