Emerald Community Interactive NewsPoster, Website and Street Touchscreens

Emerald does not have a local newspaper. This project fills the void with both a newspaper and an interactive website that members of the community can go to to find out what is happening in the township. It will include a job search facility. Community groups can post events and latest news and business groups will have their own directory. The site will be made suitable for all devices and eventually a smartphone App will be built and street touchscreens installed. Cardinia Council will also be able to use the site to keep residents of Emerald updated with latest news.

The residents, groups and businesses of Emerald have only a district newspaper to refer to for latest events etc. There is no dedicated Emerald place to go! This project addresses this need. Everyone (all demographics) in Emerald will benefit from this new initiative. There will be a Facebook page that sits alongside the website and also a monthly hard copy NewsPoster that will be published and made available at community outlets and other high traffic locations in Emerald.
The project needs seeding finance to get started but will eventually be self-sustaining. Town centre information touchscreens are also envisaged.
