To ensure a range of small and large communities had the opportunity to be part of Pick My Project, no more than 50 per cent of a regional partnership areas funding was awarded to one local government area (LGA). As a result this project was unsuccessful.

The project is a beautiful garden area that incorporates seating, edible and indigenous planting and artworks. The artworks could be pieces created by Elwood College students and teachers, and artists. They could be stand-alone and/or incorporated into the seating, retaining walls and/or pathways. The garden would be an oasis. A place to meet, sit, talk, and learn. The garden's design and development would be a collaboration with local environmental groups, Elwood students and neighbourhood people. It's proximity to the school Art-rooms within the school would assist in developing an arts precinct that people can visit and enjoy.

The Elwood Artist Garden will benefit local community by being a special place that is created and inspired by locals…a place that local people can be proud of, have ownership for and that celebrates local arts and artists. It would be a restful, contemplative destination for the thousands of people who walk along the canal, walk between the schools and the many locals who use the Education Precinct as public open space and meet and play there.
It would provide respite from the busy-ness of the sports facilities and would help tie the different aspects of the school’s grounds together.

I think it is very important to support such initiatives by state schools such as Elwood College, as it benefits students, families and local communities. Elwood College has every right to beautiful premises as private schools. Please support local and state financed education!

Landscaping is required to finish off what has been a long overdue investment in our State Schools which are shared by the whole community.

State school kids deserve the investment in their environment. They have had great investment to buildings but the surrounding area is looking very sad & unfinished. The beauty of investing in our schools is that they are not locked away. So much of the community access it out of hours for sport, play &/or relaxation in an area where space is precious & demand high.

This would be a great addition to the landscape and outdoor features of a growing school community.

Elwood College definitely, needs a tranquil and grounding environment for students to sit and reflect, outside the stresses of performance and classroom activities.

This is a wonderful community arts project which will build a connection between Elwood College students and the local arts community; including an opportunity for alumni to return to the school to co-create.
