Edenhope Community Gym

We would like to erect a large shed complex, adjacent to our local football/netball /cricket /tennis facility, to be developed into a community gym. Our small rural community does not have a community gym for public access. The closest gyms to our town are 55 km and 95km away. It would need to have 24 hour key code access, with pre exercise assessments of participants to determine their eligibility. We would hope it is a space for group physical activity programs such as yoga, kinder moves, aerobics, circuits, pilates, as well as individual use.

We would hope that this would encourage more physical activity in our community, offering gym equipment for use, but also to run group classes within the area. We would to encourage all of community to access gym, with youth, seniors, farmers, young parents and children, but also encouraging those people who have ceased the regular team sports to continue or recommence some physical activity. We have local instructors in gym activity, group programs like pilates, yoga, aerobics and kinder gym who could all deliver programs to the community. It would also be a hub for social connection for mental health.
