The Eagle Centre will cater to those groups with special needs and those who would not use existing accommodation at Clifford park. Input to the design has been sourced from Grant Morrow, using Villa Maria Society as an example. The design involves easy access, requiring ramps for entry and emergency exits. The other requirements are wide passage ways, wide doorways to allow wheelchair access to the bathroom and amenities, lever type handles, hand rails, LED lighting, and changing points. The design allows for natural lighting in passageways and rooms.
The Eagle Centre would be available for groups to stay over night, and programs would be run which would not be normally available to them. They could use same of activities at Clifford Park such as Challenge Valley, archery, and orienteering. The maintenance would be carried out by our Tuesday Group (like a Men's Shed with women). The attendance ranges from 15 to 25 weekly. The correctional services assist the group once to twice a month. This arrangement is in conjunction with the Justice Department.

This Eagle Centre is a great initiative to make the place even more inclusive that it already is!
Just camped there a couple of weeks ago - the kids are already wanting to go back and for 2 weeks instead of 2 days!
Great place to go camping without having to drive too far into the country side.
Close to the river!
A good place to learn and experience something new and have lots of fun.

This Centre is for whole Community including those with disabilities, it will be in a 19 ha Bush site which is surrounded by Warrandyte State Park, it has access to the Yarra River and has a purpose built Canoe landing. Users will have access to many challenging activities including a Challenge Valley or they may just choose to take in the serenity, enjoy the environment, the trees and birds. This site is totally unique and yet so close to Melbourne just 30km. The Centre will enable ALL to use the site and take it from Fantastic to AMAZING & FOR YOU
