Great club for the youth in our community to develop there skills and enjoy the social aspect of club comradery.

This club is unique to the area and significantly adds to the local and regional economy via the local, State and National events it holds.
The club has a community based nurturing spirit that welcomes all people and prides itself on youth development and mentoring safe drivers.
The club has faced many challenges, the most notable being disruption to membership and track assets caused by successive natural disasters (flood then fire) in recent years.
While this is the case, the tenacious community spirit of the club has shone through and membership numbers are now approaching an all time high and the club is very well respected by fellow karting enthusiasts and the local community alike.
The proposed project is essential for the ongoing viability of club. It will enable the club to operate with essential, modern and safe equipment that will cement the club as a shining example of regional adaptability and ongoing community contribution.

As a past member, I am acutely aware of the benefits of motor racing for kids especially. It helps them with issues such as acting responsibly with motor vehicles, spacial awareness, concentration, personal limitations etc. For older members it helps with socialisation, concentration, fitness and mental sharpness. I have no hesitation with recommending that this club receive funding to improve safety and improve ammenities to enable this long running club continue to provide a valuable service to the greater Goulburn valley and Moira shire area.

As a family we became involved with the Goulburn Valley Kart Club some years ago when my eldest was 7 years of age. Our now 8 year old was safety tested and granted a cadet licence at the age of 6. The skills the children have learnt is something to behold competitively, socially, and personally within a very well disciplined and regulated safe environment.
Over the many decades since the club was founded in the 50s it has been a memorable training ground for many motorsport champions both local and from afar.
To me its been extraordinary to see families and competitors band together with a passion for their sport and club to see membership growth at strength envious of our state and national karting associations.
there is an outstanding demographic of members from social / practice licence holders, club race licence holders, national competitors and of recent time one of our junior drivers representing Australia internationally.
it is so great to see the more experienced club persons taking time and opportunity to mentor and share their knowledge through the club community.

The gv kart club established in 1959. So the club is one of the oldest in Australia over the last few years the club has had to endure a few natural events including fire & flood. Being President when these events occurred I understand the amount of hard work the present members are putting in trying to make this club the happiest & best club

The Goulburn Valley Kart Club is a story of the little Aussie battler.
The track surrounds were extensively damaged during the Wunghu fires several years ago. At the time there was only a dozen or so active members and they could have easily folded as a club and been lost forever. The community spirit arose and the club fought its way back from those ashes to become the most vibrant kart club in Australia with family values at its core. The club has more than quadrupled in membership and the effects of its activities are felt throughout the local and State communities.
