This project aims to enhance the biodiversity and recreational features of Dandenong Creek. It will engage the local community in three community events to showcase the site as a location for recreational, health and well being activities and to highlight and enhance its environmental values.
Event 1 - Community planting of 7,500 indigenous tubestock
Event 2 - Contruction of 40 nestboxes
Event 3 - Site Walk & Talk with Biodiversity & Environmental Engagement specialists.

Picnic tables and a water fountain will also be installed to better facilitate recreational use of the site.

This project will benefit the community in many ways:
* provision of family-friendly recreational and educational opportunities through 3 large conservation based community events - tree planting, nest box building & guided tour
* opportunity to learn about Dandenong Creeks natural history and take action to enhance its conservation values
* installation of recreational assets such as picnic tables and water fountains to encourage increased use of the area
*enhancement of the aesthetic values of the trail through revegetation works
* increase in biodiversity through revegetation and nestbox project

Great Initiative
