Stage One, design and part construction ($30k) will be funded in 2018/19 By DELWP - ‘Trails Scapes’ will produce a scaleable concept design. The overall project will cost $150k catering to users of all ages and abillities. The park will be accessible and is adjacent to the existing trailhead carpark, shelter and toilet and facilities in Forrest.

This proposal is for detailed design and construction of stage two of the park and will result in a unique MTB experience in Forrest and the Otways for people of all abilities and ages. It will be free use public open space.

The project will provide the opportunity for children and families to develop their MTB skills in a safe, contained and well serviced environment close to the Forrest township allowing families to play and exercise together. The skills park will also draw more visitors to the township providing opportunities for employment through the food and beverage offerings, accommodation provision and services such as bike hire, skills classes and MTB tour operators.

Keeping People Active Healthy and Happy is a passion of mine as a physiotherapist. Mountain biking hits the mark on all these things as well as being great for me and my family living so close.

It will bring more people into Forrest to experience recreation and fitness in our wonderful Otway's. A great way to secure an economic future for generations to come. To many "ghosts town" in rural Vic.

Forrest has needed this for a long time! It would be nice to see the trails continue to expand and keep the regular riders/visitors happy and excited with growth to the trail network.

Mountain biking is such a key driver in tourism for Forrest, with new trails popping up all over Victoria its a great idea to have something that adds to the existing trail network and keeps the riders interested in all the things Forrest has to offer

A great concept. The development of the Forrest MBT Skills Park would provide a safe environment for both locals and visitors to Forrest to develop the skills needed for mountain biking
The facility would complement the fantastic mountain bike trails already in Forrest

Forrest requires safe bike tracks in the town ship enabling safe passage to trails on the out skirts of town
