Derrinallum Fitness Project

The outdoor gym equipment will be accessible to visitors and locals to encourage users of all ages and abilities to engage in physical activity. The exercise equipment will be visible from the road, but a safe distance from it, set in aesthetic parklands. Only as short stroll to the shops, the project is conveniently located at the recreation reserve where locals congregate for numerous sporting events. Derrinallum attracts many tourists, those stopping for an extended period often camp at the reserve. Positioning fitness equipment at this key location will provide free access to gym equipment every day of the year.

Our community will benefit by having access to previously unavailable exercise equipment every day in a safe and aesthetic setting. Providing incentives for tourists to stop in town and enjoy the sights and amenities Derrinallum offers, creates a more vibrant community and allows businesses to thrive. There are future plans to develop a BBQ and picnic area at the reserve, thereby creating more reasons for locals and tourists to stay in town. The site is located near the playground so parents may utilise it whilst supervising playing children. Locals will be encouraged to gather, socialise and freely use the equipment.
