Through 32 editions and nearly 200,000 copies, the volunteers and partners of The Westsider Newspaper have witnessed how the stories of Melbourne's West engage and enhance our diverse community, showing that we are much greater than the sum of parts.
Our 'Voice of the West' has proved to be a cornerstone of our rich and varied community, but as a volunteer-based organisation, our existence is regularly under threat and our full potential not yet realised.
We urgently need a Community Media Coordinator to harness our diverse community-spirit and secure our future, and the potential of our community.

An experienced local Community Media Coordinator will be employed 1 day per week to create a Self-Sustaining Community Newspaper for medium to long-term.
They will:
- create and build new mutually supportive relationships with local social, cultural, recreational, council, business and charity groups;
- grow our team, train and support our volunteers;
- expand our distribution, readership and profile;
- build partnership opportunities in support of diverse community organisations and the financial sustainability of The Westsider.

We want to build a self-sustaining model of community engagement and support that gives us the stability to truly realise our community's potential.
