The Daylesford station built in 1882 is a dichromatic brick passenger station building and was in its day the most substantial example of a branch line terminal station. It is the base of Daylesford Spa Country Railway and used by hundreds of heritage railway patrons and visitors to the site every week.

In conjunction with Victrack its was totally restored internally in 2017 and this project will see that completed with the external restoration including stripping all paint work applied in 2001, repair to all brick work and re-tuckpointing of all mortar.

The Daylesford Railway Station is significant to the local community for its role in the social and commercial development of Daylesford. It played a major part in the development of tourism in the Daylesford district and in particular the commercial exploitation of the mineral springs as a gateway for tourists travelling to the springs.

As one of the major tourism attractions in the Hepburn Shire the restored building will enhance its role as the focal point for the Sunday Market and heritage railway and continue generating hundreds of thousands of dollars for the local economy.

The current paint work on the station is really starting to show its age and is in desperate need of attention! This funding would do wonders to restore it to it’s former glory.

Highly important project to assist the Daylesford Spa Country Railway in their efforts to preserve the station building as part of the tourist railway and VR history.

It looks far too much like a NSW railway station in that paint scheme. Time it was restored to it's former glory.

Nice project Daylesford Railway, your station interior is a delight. I've maxed out my vote with our local Mornington Railway, hope you get many votes from Daylesford locals. We've ridden the railway several times, will continue to do so. Via Daylesford is now our preferred route to Vic north-west, largely because we res-break at the station. Good luck!

This group does so much to preserve the Railway heritage of not just the Daylesford area but Victorian Railways in general. A worthy project.
