To provide hands on workshops, panels and guest speakers on current discussion and technologies in STEM related fields for the youth in our community.
To showcase the role of STE(A)M in education and the exciting future careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. The day hopes to bring together STEM skilled teachers and students; to engage the community through participation and aspiration.
SMS will involve the school and wider community to initiate an inaugural STEM Festival. This will start ’the Conversation’ by exploring the diversity of future careers in STEM. The program is designed to engage the community informing all parties of the new skills of STEM enabled careers and to bring together tertiary education providers, business and industry that promotes the importance of collaboration between education and industry. An event such as this has not occurred in the South east district previously and we are hoping that it provides a convenient gathering for our community.

This is a very worthwhile project, especially considering how Victoria is the headquarters for our fledgling National Space Agency. Now is the time to shape the young minds to produce the STEM leaders, to either establish value added Australian space technology businesses, or provide a solid group of STEM influencers within State and Federal Governments of the near future.
