The Davis Park grand stand is an iconic piece of historic infrastructure at the community sports ground. Utilised for cricket, hockey, football, netball and unstructured sports, Davis Park is the epicentre of sport and recreation in Nhill.
The grand stand was built in 1926 and sits 250 people and has a great view of the best looking oval in Victoria (only second to the MCG). The grand stand is in dire need of repair and the sporting club needs this grant to help secure its future.
The grandstand refurbishment will ensure that spectators, both Nhill and visiting clubs have a safe, all-weather viewing area to enjoy the myriad of sporting and community events held throughout the year at the community precinct. Davis Park is used by sporting clubs, community organisations, local businesses and individuals. The grandstand is a pivotal piece of infrastructure in providing a safe, family friendly environment for the community's sport and recreational pursuits. Sport, both structured and unstructured is at the heart of our small community and losing the grand stand due to safety and red tape would be a tragic loss.

The Nhill and District Sporting Club has the largest sporting club membership in Nhill. Not only does it provide opportunities for sport but the social connections are immensely important. Small communities like Nhill must continue to provide opportunities for this connection. The grandstand allows people to get together and share - vital.

My first vote goes towards seeing this historical grandstand brought back to its original state, so young and old alike can carry on the memories on that this building represent.

Football hockey cricket Auskick . Doesn't matter wether you play or watch ,the grandstand is a great asset .
