The DRMC is seeking funding for equipment and furnishing of the new facility.
- Compactus storage for documents, small instruments, sheet music
- Purpose-built instrument storage for percussion instruments
- Table and chairs for meeting room
- Grand Piano
- Sound and Visual System
This facility will be used 7 days and nights per week by the whole music community including bands, orchestras, choirs, children and youth groups, disability activities, school groups and audiences. The equipment will facilitate community engagement in musical rehearsal, performance, workshops, cultural activities, individual and small group tuition across all ages and all abilities.
The community will benefit directly in terms of weekly use of the funded equipment through ensemble rehearsals, instrumental tuition and group music sessions up to 200 people. Extended use of the equipment will also be available for Upwey High School students during school hours up to 250+ music students. The use of the equipment would benefit participants and audience in masterclasses, workshops and major projects/productions, concerts up to 600+. Proper storage will ensure the preservation of music and instruments for current use and for future generations of community music making.

This new building is a very exciting development for the Arts community of the hills, due for completion by mid 2019. Outfitting with furniture, fittings, and sound and light equipment and a grand piano will complete the building as a very attractive, user-friendly and accessible space for participants and audiences of all musical tastes and abilities.
