Project involves creating a segregated walking and cycling path along Trotting Terrace (approx. 220m in length) between McIvor Forest Drive and La Valla Court, as well as a safe road crossing to cross Trotting Terrace. This project will create a permanent piece of public infrastructure in the heart of a residential area, and adjacent to a secondary school and tertiary facility.
This path completes a missing link between three other cycling paths in Junortoun to create a cycling network which will be used for walking and cycling by residents, school students, commuters, those attending sport, and tourists.

This path will improve the safety of those who walk and cycle in Junortoun, and help link the community of Junortoun to Strathfieldsaye, and to the O'Keefe Rail Trail. It will also create a safer option for Junortoun residents to commute to central Bendigo by bicycle.
Currently vulnerable cyclists must compete with 80kmh traffic on Trotting Terrace. This path will facilitate access to the local playground, and improve safe access to Catherine McAuley College. It will assist Junortoun primary students to cycle to Strathfieldsaye schools; and will connect the Strathfieldsaye with the O'Keefe Rail Trail.

This would make our community safer and would be fantastic for all the 100’s of cyclists and walkers out this way.

Residential growth area with lots of car & school bus traffic. Anything that will improve safety is worthwhile. Enticing folk out of their cars or off their butts to walk or bike instead not only benefits the individual but the community in general.
