Old stories with new insights are being shared about Lake Tyers and the catchment. Stories previously hidden away in diaries, memories, letters or reports. These emerging stories influence how we see the past and shape our idea of the future. Recording these stories and having them available 'at our finger tips' through QR codes would add to knowledge of life on and in the lake for locals and visitors. Signboards featuring local habitat and lifestyle would complement the spoken stories by those who have lived on the lake. Some for a very long time, others more recently. A continuing story.

Travellers and locals love to 'yarn' - to share stories of life on the lake, its habitat: birds, plants, people as well as local legends and events. A unique healthy waterway with minimal built infrastructure it is also the home of the Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust and a once thriving timber community. Becoming recognised as a story telling centre curating the catchment with signage sharing stories of local significance would offer insight into the beauty, history and vulnerability of life of the lake. Curating the catchment would offer walking book options to complement FLOAT activities attracting artists and local enterprises www.float3909.com
