Our community-run kindergarten is striving to be an all-access, inclusive kindergarten and would like to pilot a series of free workshops offered to the broader community on weekends throughout the school term. The creative workshops will provide a fun platform for children and their parents/carers to explore different themes through play and theatre, while fostering community connections. The existing entrance to the kindergarten needs upgrading in order to meet all-access requirements. Upgrading the entrance will allow all community members safe and independent access.

Ripponlea Kindergarten is not-for-profit and community-run by a committed group of parent volunteers. Building on the inclusive ethos of the kinder, we would like to support and connect with the broader community, not just enrolled families. The free workshops will promote social cohesion and diversity through story telling, creative thinking and play.
Upgrading the entrance to the kinder will provide functional accessibility to the whole community including the elderly, parents with strollers or people who use mobility aids.
The kinder does not receive any council or Department of Education funding for maintenance or facilities.

As a past parent and committee member this is a much needed improvement. Current entryway is not wheelchair friendly and very congested. This is a wonderful non for profit Kinder with great teachers and community .

Very Much needed upgrade for the current Safety Risks and for Accessibility to the local community. The workshops sound like an awesome way to bring the community at large together.

I am a past parent at Ripponlea. This is such a fantastic community Kinder that strives to be inclusive to all members of the community. Wheelchair access and safer access for able bodied children is so needed there as the current entrance is in a high (pedestrian) traffic area close to a very busy road. The newly proposed creative programs sound like they would be such a great resource to families from the Kinder as well as the wider community. Ripponlea has such a great community of hard working teachers and parents trying to improve accessibility to the Kinder but unfortunately there is only so much they can do without more financial support.

So important that we get this done. Current entrance way is too hectic for young kids and doesn't have wheelchair access. More creative workshops would be awesome for our kids too!
