To ensure a range of small and large communities had the opportunity to be part of Pick My Project, no more than 50 per cent of a regional partnership areas funding was awarded to one local government area (LGA). As a result this project was unsuccessful.

This program will support art, digital/tech and performance activities in the Little Malop Street Mall with a commitment to working with young people at risk of homelessness, currently in out-of-home care and/or living with mental health issues. Creative works displayed/performed for community aiming to develop connections, learning opportunities and activations in the Mall. Young people will develop networks and skills from creative practitioners in a studio environment to plan and build a program of creative works. During the project period the creative works will be scheduled/performed in the Mall. Barwon Adolescent Task Force and Youth+ will support youth engagement.
SOCIAL IMPACT:
Creative outputs addressing & working on solving negative community perceptions regarding young people in the Mall,
activating the Mall helps address community safety perceptions,
generate more 'feet on the street',
support young people telling their stories, their way,
open up young people to new experiences and work of the future in science/design/art/tech,
supporting groups of young people disproportionately affected by mental health and compounded disadvantage.
VISION & LEARNING:
Provide direct experience in creative industries with the potential to pipeline youth into further learning & work,
supports community vision of 'Clever and Creative' and caring for our community.
