Our program is open to individuals aged 12-26+ and welcomes creatives and non-creatives of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. As the curator, I will be looking to organise opportunities and activities that aim to provide young people with a chance to have their voice heard via a creative platform. We will provide; 2 x gallery spaces for emerging artists; a workshop program facilitated by young artists; artist talks; visual art events; installations and festivals; a courtyard gallery for murals; and a laneway gallery for street art. These activities are guided by the creative needs and interests of our young participants.

CHYA provides a platform for young and emerging artists to take creative risk and to conceive relevant and contemporary programming in a creative and inclusive environment. Funding our project would help CHYA to deliver its intention of becoming a culture and arts hub for the youth of Geelong. We strive to be at the leading edge of the Geelong arts scene, to give Geelong’s youth a place where they can be themselves and have fun, as well as unleash their creative side for the whole world to see. We believe in a community of trust and encouragement for young creatives.
