Creation of a Community Hub.

The Station will create a valuable community asset, attract tourism, support business and address local needs. All building renovations are provided by VicTrack funding. Included are workshop, office, meeting, studio and performance spaces, an Artist’s Library Lounge, Art Gallery, kitchen, disabled toilets, parking and storage. Workshops, events, exhibitions, services and facilities for community use will be provided, and local craft and regional products will be promoted. Funds are needed to internally furnish and fit out the Station. Kitchen appliances, office & meeting room furniture, an art hanging system, technology, audio/video equipment, signage, security and landscaping are all needed.

The St Arnaud Rail Station will be a ‘Principle Point’ of social, educational, cultural and economic development possibilities. Opportunities will be offered for all residents, regardless of age, gender, income or interests to participate. The retention of local skills and talent will ensure it remains viable in the future, continues to provide opportunities for the existing population and potentially will attract new residents, businesses and visitors. A measure of success will be seen by visitor numbers, workshop and event attendance, engagement with other community organisations, use of the facilities, volunteerism, successful funding and media coverage.
