There are five organisations in Queenscliff dealing with the region’s heritage: Queenscliff Maritime Museum (QMM); Queenscliff Historical Museum; The Fort; The Discovery Centre and the Railway. There are at least ten more with significant historical data. Currently catalogues are not integrated and presentations not mutually supported / themed. Geelong Regional Library now have platforms - “ATOM” which comprehensively displays image and text descriptions of objects and a catalogue allowing global literature access. Heritage Queenscliffe proposes to bring all these organisations together in History Week 2019. QMM will become the pilot move in this objective.

QMM have begun the integration of the Museum Library with Geelong Regional Library. Heritage Queenscliff will seek the creation of a multi- campus federation of autonomous organisations to present the history of Southern Port Phillip and its role in the establishment of Melbourne and Victoria. This could take the form of themes, combining with restaurants, event managers, schools, book sellers, music, film and entertainment, to make heritage a driving force in the Bellarine Peninsula’s economy – enhancing jobs and a sense of place and identity.
