The project would involve the removal of the existing five light poles from around the ground and install four new light towers with 100 Lux LED lighting to cover the ground. This the minimum requirement suitable for competition at local club level for Australian Rules Football.

The Coughlin Park oval is the most used oval in the Wimmera with around 50,000 participants per year across football, cricket, education and other community and recreational uses. The lighting upgrade will see the facility fully upgraded with its new community centre and soon to be upgraded playing surface. This gives Horsham another premier ground to host events, which eases the load placed onto the Horsham City Oval.

This project is a must for both football and cricket. Greater training opportunities, and the ability to host major sporting events at any hour of the day will go hand in hand with the future playing surface upgrade.

It would be fantastic to have decent lighting at the most used sporting precinct in Horsham.
