Connected communities are stronger and more resilient. The aim of Connected Communities is to support multicultural groups to create video content that is optimised for online platforms and to grow their online communities. When social media platforms are used positively they can be powerful tools to support inclusion and promote social cohesion - and video content is increasingly a key driver of social media engagement. Connected Communities aims to support groups at Channel 31's CBD location with training, support, collaboration opportunities and access to equipment and resources to develop content that will engage audiences and build their online communities.

As audiences increasingly shift online Channel 31 has identified then need to ensure all sections of our community have the skills and resources to create content optimized for online platforms. By developing online communities, multicultural groups can create channels of communication, to share local stories, targeted information and to highlight events and festivals of interest and to even broadcast those events live via Facebook and/or YouTube. Connected Communities aims to bridge the digital divide, to ensure the power of social media and online platforms are accessible to all regardless of gender, age or technical competence.

Hope C31 gets up. Great to be able to help them continue being a breeding ground for local talent.

This looks amazing. As a kid I really valued seeing our Filipino community represented on Channel 31!! Would be well worth helping our smaller communities to reach their audiences online now :)
