Building a work space for the local community to recycle timber into useful and beautiful products and a creative space for artists and groups. The space like the adjoining community garden is open to the whole community regardless of a persons age, race, religion, ability or socio economic circumstance. The kitchen will create opportunities to produce healthy meals from fresh produce grown at the CG. Create opportunities for people from all walks of life to work together and share leading to a stronger more inclusive, resilient and connected community. Positive Change - One Neighborhood at a Time.

The project will create an all weather facility that can be accessed by local groups and service clubs for activities. Located in the center of Portland it is uniquely placed alongside several schools including one for students with disabilities who access the Community Garden project. It creates a space for groups and individuals who may not fit into the sport type opportunities to develop healthy activities and eat nutritious food. Connection to the PCG also brings people in contact with opportunities to protect the environment by recycling and growing chemical free local foods onsite

The extension of the shed for a kitchen and workshop will be a huge bonus for our community and beyond.
Our local people can join into cooking classes as well as being involved in wood work as well.

Fantastic group of local people, from a diverse cross section of back grounds, that all work so well together.

Community Kitchen is a great way for people to socialise, learn new schools and learn how to use what's seasonal in the garden. Located close to schools, it would be an excellent local resource.
