Community Virtual Reality Music Project

Anyone in the community can access a VR Music performance experience. A user will have access to different performance experiences (eg string quartet to orchestra to soul band) and the ability to import different musical genres and styles. Students/teachers would have access. Features include: Basic category of music/styles where different sections/instruments are separated; Real time control of experience in terms of sound (eg isolate a section of the band); controllable by the user in the VR space or controllable via mixing desk by teacher or audio-technician; Performer can play their own instrument (eg guitar/sax); performer can get feedback and analytics.

The project provides everyone in the community with access to a world class VR facility and enhances the community's potential as an arts/music destination. The project links with Deakin University, one of the regions key tertiary institutions, and could be accessed by schools, teachers, students, children and visitors to the area as well as musicians and the arts community.
