Richmond Riots would like to assist their teams and the local primary school community by improving the basketball courts at Richmond Primary School with new basketball rings and amenities. This will benefit the 300+ strong student body at the school, as well as the near 300 members of the club and the wider community who utilise the facilities outside of school hours. The current facilities are very old, damaged and worn and in need of dire attention!

The club are also seeking to fund storage for their equipment at the school via the purchase of a used shipping container.

Currently the club has no 'home ground' (thus no storage facilities) despite being in operation since 2010 when it started in the HBA within one team. The effectively 'homeless' organisation has grown rapidly to reach 37 teams and 297 u18 players.

At a time when kids being active is more important than ever, achieving funding for the improvement of these deteriorating facilities at Richmond Primary will not only assist with facilities for the club to train, keep kids active, enhance their skills, but will also improve sporting outcomes for the whole school and the local community.

Richmond Riots is a club that has qickly grown to over 37 teams in just a few years. Currently they don't even have a "home base" so the Richmond Primary School is often the basis for the initial recruiting and training for numerous teams all year round. This includes having the hoops not level, the backboards needing updating to those which can be "lowered" for the younger ages to practice at the height they have in games, replacement nets, etc.

Richmond Riots is the best example of from little things, big things grow! So many children and young adults started their basketball careers on this court. An upgrade is well overdue.
And storage would be icing on the cake

The more local sporting clubs engage children in a beneficial and positive way the better our society will become.
In saying this the better the facilities the more children and parents will engage sports hopefully eliminating a lot of negative activities that others not engaged can be attracted to.

Court is often used by Richmond Riots teams for training (could be one of the fastest growing team in Vic). BUT - current rings and metal stems move and often are not straight. One ring is ony 2.91m high, the other one is 3.01m high. The ground is often patchy and needs resurfacing. THIS PROJECT IS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED GREATLY!

Many kids / adults use this court as the school keeps it open on the weekend. Some great friendships have been made around the court.

So needed. The Richmond Riots Basketball Club is a brilliant community club and it's numbers just keep growing.
