Wednesday community tennis night was established several years ago, and currently there are more players then courts with lights. The aim of the project is to install lights on the fourth court so more people can enjoy social tennis.
The project will cater for increasing demand for social tennis, including
- new players, in particular non members
- players of a standard below competition level
- players wishing to return to tennis after a long absence (former junior players)
- people enjoying social tennis, rather than competitive fixtures

Great idea - lighting will increase more evening tennis to be played.

For some, tennis in the evening is the only time available to get out and get fit, and do so in a community-based environment. The extra space will help to meet increasing demand

Ormond Tennis club is very popular. There are always lots of people wanting to play social tennis at night time.
Currently a number of people have to sit off and wait for a lit court to become available.
Having a fourth court lit at night will really encourage people in the local area to try tennis and keep fit!
