With funding support, the Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club will remove and replace the existing damaged asbestos roof, as currently the roof is in such bad repair there is constant leaking which is putting pressure on the ageing ceiling to the point of a real risk of collapse, obviously creating a health and safety risk. We will update and improve the infrastructure and facilities inside the clubhouse such as the toilets and change rooms. This will make the community building more accessible for people with disability, so they can fully participate at the Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club.

The Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club provides a central hub for two sporting groups, both the tennis club and the Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Bowls Club. Each of these clubs have a member base of over 300 who regularly use the shared clubhouse facility. Both clubs hold regular events during the year which attract more than 2000 participants. Various passive exercise groups also access the clubhouse so the facility is a real asset to the community. Within each group there is a wide age range participating, with this grant it would allow equal access to the community.

Warrnambool needs somewhere to play Tennis and as one of the very few Lawn court complexes in Victoria, we need to keep it as an ongoing community concern.

Warrnambool is so lucky to have such quality courts in what should be the prime sporting precinct, bringing so many visitors to town with tournaments and increasing local revenue lets keep our guests and give them the services they deserve.

Would love to see the clubhouse get a new lease on life for the coming generation to utilise in the future. A worthy project that would benefit the community and could encourage more individuals to be involved in the sport and the club.

I have been using the lawn courts since I was a young girl in the 1970s. This facility is one of the best in the western
district for lawn courts. It is long overdue for refurbish as the club house remains the same from all those years ago.
I now have family of my own that are using this facility. It would be great to see it updated and well maintained for
the future generations.
