Solar panels will be installed for community organisations who then repay them out of savings. The repayments will then be used to purchase more panels for people who cannot normally purchase panels, such as underprivileged and rental units. These people will also repay out of savings, generating a rolling fund to install panels. We have already successfully implemented a similar project at the Araluen Centre where we installed 25Kw of solar panels for around $28,000. They have paid back 15% of the original cost. Initial discussions have been held with Council who would need to be involved.
Community groups and later, community members, will get access to cheaper power. Over the long term they would own the solar panels outright. Every human on earth benefits from reduced carbon emissions.

Really like the sustainability elements of this project
This is an excellent project, it would be good if we could vote for ONE project outside our area...
A fantastic project
This project will help members of these organisations and visitors to these facilities to understand how easy, natural and cheap-over-the-long-term solar power is, so it will have a flow-on effect as well as helping reduce carbon emissions immediately upon installation.
Inspiring and timely now the Vic Govt is offering incentives to households to install solar power.
If every community facility roof had solar panels we would be well on the way to 100% renewable energy!
