Community Social Enterprise Education Centre

Knoxbrooke’s Yarra View Nursery is a social enterprise retail and wholesale nursery employing over 100 adults with an intellectual disability in Mt Evelyn, an outer eastern suburb of Melbourne. Yarra View highly values the opportunity to include the general community in all that they do. The retail nursery is open 7 days a week to the public. This project will establish a ‘Social Enterprise Education Centre’ aimed at giving the local community, customers and tourists the chance to learn about what a Social Enterprise is, how it works, and how Yarra View nursery operates.

As a not-for-profit community organisation Knoxbrooke believes strongly in the value that people with a disability can bring to the general workforce and the positive flow-on effects to the economy and community. This project supports the organisation’s aims to increase employment opportunities for people with a disability through community education and inclusiveness.
