Community School Hall - Replace leaking roof and upgrade facilities

Funding for repair to the existing roof has been obtained, however the existing roof was badly designed and constructed and leaks have persisted for years, despite regular costly maintenance.

The school hall is hired by a number of local community groups despite leaks, loud air conditioning, inadequate heating and insulation and a dismal sound/PA system.

By re-roofing the hall some design elements that contribute to leaks could be eliminated and by improving insulation the heating and cooling would be more efficient and save the school money on ongoing maintenance and energy costs.

By redesigning and replacing the hall roof, adding insulation and improving temperature control the space would be much more attractive to the local community:

- the hall would then be used safely on wet days without buckets or towels laid out
- the hall would be used all year round with efficient heating and cooling
- the hall would be well insulated and look better with ceiling, curtains, carpets, etc
- the school could save the costs of current ongoing maintenance and inefficient heating and cooling
- the roof would be redesigned to allow for the installation of solar panels
