A dedicated room to be built at Oakleigh South Primary to facilitate innovative learning of technology open to community. Using the inspirational power of robotics, specialised educators, teachers and community volunteers will deliver weekend, afterschool and holiday workshops to: •Kickstart kids passion for robotics and learning technology for life •Empower parents learning cybersecurity and skills to support children’s digital learning •Boost teaching staff with skills to deliver digital technologies curriculum •Inspire and educate next generation of technology leaders and learners from our community. Currently the school does not have a dedicated room to engage community participation to make this happen.
Our community, made up largely of hard-working time-poor families, share a common goal to develop our children’s skills for the future. Convenient location of the lab on school grounds will eliminate travel for over 1200 Oakleigh South Primary School students and teachers. Children and adults from the community and 5 nearby schools within minutes-drive will enjoy access to after-hours and weekend robotics/STEM and cybersecurity workshops. Free and some low fee workshops will offer collaborative learning to stimulate critical thinking, creativity and innovation. Families in our community will be better engaged and supported, developing a passion for technology and life-long learning.

I always thought I was born to make robots lolz. I hope my kid and all the other kids who are passionate about this, should get their hands on as early as possible. If we get it, I would like to help in any possible manner I could.
