Batesford Reserve offers a number of family friendly areas including a sporting oval, children playground, BBQ facilities, a community garden producing fresh vegetables for the local community and safe area for off-leash dog walking. All these areas are under-utilised due to the lack of a public toilet. The nearest public toilets are 1.4 kms away at Holmesglen or Jordanville stations or 1.3 kms away at the Mathew Flinders Hotel. Current members of all ages in the community are reluctant to spend time at the reserve due to the difficulty in accessing a suitable toilet.
The local community is complex with over 33.7% of people born overseas, 28.1 % of households with children and 31.86% of households rented. The reserve provides free space and facilities that allow for the community to enjoy social, friendly and constructive activities. The provision of a public toilet accessible 7 days a week will provide a major benefit to the community allowing new residents to mix and develop friendships, seniors to spend quality time with friends or family, and gardening groups to participate in producing healthy fresh food for the community.

A toilet is urgently nwwded.
We need a toilet in this park badly. In fact I need to go right now.
It's ridiculous that there is not already public toilets already available here given how popular Batesford Reserve is. They are long overdue. I've seen men use the Chadstone Food Forest as their toilet as there are no public toilets available.
Can't understand why public toilets are not mandatory in all playground areas in the Monash Council .Definitely needed and at all their playgrounds and parks
I live in this area since1996. Me and my wife walk in the morning or in the night 5 to 6 times a week. A toilet will be a boon for us as we do not have any public toilet in the area. Specially in the evening its much worse condition as we have no toilet at all. I have seen people using the bushes and making the area dirty. Its hygienic requirement as well to have public toilets an sports are , in public walking places.
Such a wonderful and well used space but certainly needs a toilet!
I walk my Dog as part of a group that gather there in late afternoons, as well as a Chadstone Food Forest Group that gather there, and families that gather for afternoon walks to watch the sunset. Toilets are much needed here and would be used by many locals.
The toilet is urgently needed for the community.

For such a beautiful playground, it would be wonderful to have a toilet here!
