The Greenvale Recreation Reserve is a huge area of public land on the outskirts of Greenvale. It adjoins the Woodlands Historic Park with its beautiful bush land, walking tracks & Kangaroos. The Reserve caters for Tennis and equestrian pursuits and is home to the Football & Cricket Clubs-two Clubs fielding over 40 teams.
Children love playing on playground equipment and there are no playgrounds within several kilometres.
The aim is to construct a first class playground for the use of the hundreds of children who regularly attend the Reserve and for the children of local and visiting families

Hundreds of children attend sporting activities at the Reserve each week. They have nowhere to play unless they are actively playing sport.
There are also hundreds of new houses being built in this part of Greenvale but no playgrounds. The nearest playground is kilometres away.
Further still, many Greenvale residents visit the Reserve to run around, play with the dog, kick the footy, or walk through to Woodlands Park.
With an abundance of open fields, bushland , walking paths and unlimited parking, what better site for a first class playground could there be for an expanding number of Greenvale families.

This is a great initiative which will further enhance the reserve for the thousands of rate payers, and their families, who regularly frequent it for recreational or fitness purposes.

A large amount of people already use the facilities for the football and cricket club so the exposure is huge. Greenvale is growing at a rapid rate in the surrounding area so we need these facilities.

The Greenvale Recreation Reserve is a multi purpose venue used for local sport and visited by many families from the immediate area and from all Melbourne and Victoria to watch and to participate in cricket, football and tennis. The venue lacks facilities for young children and families. With the many young families moving into the area it currently lacks this type of facility. As well as the various sports being played at the researve, many locals visit the area to walk their dogs, run or walk laps and visit the cummunity hall.
