The City of Glen Eira hosts many supported care and independent living facilities, including Rosstown, Spurway and Warrawee Community Centres, Arcare, Bupa, Bambra House, Sapphire Care and Brimlea Aged Care.
In the past, Caulfield Photographic Society members have visited facilities to photograph residents as part of their activities. The photos have been provided to residents and their families.
This project aim is to fund continuation of this work and extend it by producing an exhibition, in a gallery in the Glen Eira City, in addition to exhibitions in each facility. A book of the images would also be produced.

Perceived benefits are aimed at bringing together aged residents with the community by conducting a photography project at each facility.
1. Family members will be encouraged to participate in the portrait sessions where the elderly are the centre of attention.
2. Individual portraits of residents/patients provided as family keepsakes.
3. Exhibitions at each participating facility
4. Increase engagement with the local community through a prime exhibition, in a gallery in the City of Glen Eira City, advertised across Glen Eira to all its residents as a showcase for aged care in the city.

What a gift it is to use the skills in our community to honour our elderly residents who have provided so much in their varied and intriguing lives.
