Community News Access Program

My team and I are developing a software application that will make local news and information on community events more readily accessible. As a young entrepreneur (22) I hope this project will benefit all Victorians and encourage an informed electorate and inclusive communities. We will partner with grassroots and community newspapers to ensure their content is accessible and reaches a wider audience. The benefit of this interaction will be greater attendance at community events and greater transparency with locals and community leaders' policies, announcements, events, and activities. The software is free and accessible to anyone with a smart phone.

The local community will benefit from our mobile application because they will have real-time access to trending news within their own and surrounding communities. In an age of misinformation and monopolistic media it's important that smaller community newspapers and content providers aren't left out or forgotten but rather, facilitated. We are confident that our free application, in partnership with local community leaders, will ensure the survival and dissemination of local news and media. The application is already in its third and final stage of testing and works by aggregating information providers' content into a simple feed for easy, accessible reading.
