The Ararat City Band is actively working to provide musical education and entertainment to the community in Ararat and the wider region. In our Development Program we currently have 37 students learning, ranging in ages from 6yo to adult and musical ability from beginners to advanced. However we require more instruments to expand our program and continue generating the success of our students now and into the future. Being in a low socio-economic area many students are unable to purchase their own instruments and the band does what it can to provide them; and this project will assist greatly.

Being in low socio economic area parents are often unable to afford music lessons and we aim to provide these opportunities to any child (or adult) who wishes to learn. Our programs complement and benefit the local schools. The Band provides many performance opportunities within the community for its members including Carols in the Park; ANZAC Day and Dawn services, Australia Day celebrations and many other community events. The Grampians Brass Festival and Grampians Youth Brass camp are Band run community events. This project will allow us to continue to provide musical education and entertainment into the future.
