The Pavilion is easily accessible to students, families, service providers and the broader community. Service provision includes but is not limited to: Doctors in Secondary Schools Initiative, Mindfulness meditation, Universal Youth Services, Health outreach services – Counselling, Drug and Alcohol, Family Violence support, Yoga. A range of outreach universal youth services will be delivered by Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Youth Services that will facilitate various personal development programs and initiatives for students. Peninsula Health will deliver a number of outreach services tailored to students and their families’ needs.
Funding from Pick my Project will complement other confirmed funding sources.

The objectives of the Wellness Pavilion are aligned to the State Government’s “10 Year Mental Health Plan” with a clear goal of creating a healthier, fairer and more inclusive community, meaning good mental health for everyone particularly people who are disadvantaged and vulnerable.

Rosebud has the second highest level of socioeconomic disadvantage on the Peninsula (950.4 SEIFA), compared to the Shire (1,022 SEIFA), and rates of depressive symptoms in young people are as high as 35% compared to the State Average of 15%. By delivering meditation programs and making access available to mental health support agencies, these figures will improve.

Tackling and supporting youth mental health, an important part of ensuring the future generation thrives. To have a wellness pavilion attached to the school grounds allows access to all.
