The aim of our project is to incorporate full accessibility for all in our existing outdoor environment learn and play areas. This includes our existing Kitchen Garden, Henhouse and Frog Bog Wetland areas. Included in this project will be a new fully accessible sensory garden (Bush Tucker) and a story telling space among our gum trees. The project includes creating wheelchair access and accessibility for the school and community. We are looking at creating pathways, edging, boardwalk, railings, fencing, gates, sleepers, wheelchair platforms, raised garden beds for disabled access, plants for the sensory garden, and a covered area with seating.

Our school, situated in the Dandenong Ranges, is a school with a heavy focus on the environment and outdoor learning. As the hub of the community we actively encourage all in our community to utilise our beautiful hills environment all year round. Currently access to this space is limited for 3-4 months a year due to our wet climate. The construction of boardwalks, raised platforms etc. will allow access to all and enjoyment all year round. Murrindindi, our Wurrundjeri elder, is a good friend of our Dandenong Ranges schools and will lead us through the indigenous part of the development.
