Our large common area is currently underutilised and we are planning to convert this into a community garden that the residents and surrounding community can contribute and enjoy. The community garden will have a wicking garden bed to plant herbs and vegetables. We would also like to have a composting site, where residents can recycle their food scraps to minimise waste. The plan also includes fruit trees, which will need to be planted in pots. Install a frog bog to support and possibly increase the population of Growling Grass Frogs in the area.

We live in an urban jungle where most of the people in our residential block do not have space to plant their own vegetable and fruit trees. The community garden will benefit 27 families living in this residential block and also indirectly benefit surrounding residents. We are planning to work with council to deliver workshops in this area, such as growling frog habitat workshop, native trees and birds workshop and also composting workshop. This will educate the residents as well as workshop participants on how to be sustainable and also how to minimise waste.

This is s fabulous project. Growing food, composting, and creating wildlife habitat is essential to the well being of all. Good luck. Hope you receive the small amount of funding you’ve requested and can develop this further into the future.
