The website and social media pages will be designed to support the overall goal of making Mentone a better place. It will showcase local events and businesses, serve as a bulletin board and provide a platform that allows for interaction within the local community, essentially acting as a virtual town hall. The website will be updated regularly with content promoting local events and recent news. Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts will be used in conjunction with the website, to allow for increased community engagement.

The project will provide an important platform for communication whilst the railway crossing works are in progress. It will also publicise local events and serve as a bulletin board, creating a better sense of community in Mentone. Traders will benefit from the project as it will allow them to work together to build the local community, whilst providing them a single voice to the community and council. It will also encourage interaction between groups such as traders, schools and sporting clubs and allow for community concerns like local safety to be easily raised and discussed.

Are you utilising local community websites that already exist?
http://www.mycommunitylife.com.au/Home
Or community health and wellbeing support services
Childandyouthdirectory.com.au
Can you meet and collaborate to perhaps have categories to add and communicate new key activities for your targeted locals? Perhaps redesigning or rebranding as the issue is always sustainability with updates etc. unless you had volunteers working from home to update site etc which is a common staffing arrangement amongst not for profits etc
