The current change rooms at the Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve were built in 1961 and are in desperate need to be upgraded. Currently the facilities are used by two main user groups all year round and also utilized by schools and community groups for sporting & recreational activities.
The current facilities do not cater for the increased participation in female sport and do not have separate change rooms, toilets or showers and does not meet current guidelines.

This Reserve has approx 1100 participants annually. The existing condition of the change rooms is poor and maintenance costs to repair are very high. The existing rooms were designed for male only patronage leaving us nowhere for females umpires & netball to change & shower. Our plan is to build a new facility in a new location on the reserve. We envisage that the new change rooms will provide these needed facilities as well as disabled accessible toilet that can be accessed externally and a baby change room.

The Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve COM are fully supportive of the grant application and are the main contributors of the funds required for the building of the new facilities as well as in kind support offered from the Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club & Lakes Entrance Cricket Club which are the two main users groups of the facility.
AFL Gippsland have recently imposed extra fees on all Football Clubs, with out prior consultation, for their running costs as AFL Victoria have cut their funding, so limited funding opportunities for Grass Roots Clubs to make improvements to their facilities when fees go up!
The facilities are used often by local schools for their schools sports program, AFL Gippsland for AFL footballer visits, NET Set Go program, Lakes Entrance Netball Association, Auskick & Local Community groups for fundraising activities & promotions free of charge. So please vote to help make the facilities better in Lakes Entrance.

Much needed upgrade, which will continue to give youth of area a place to come and interact and grow within a sporting environment. Such a large town who deserve facilities to be upgraded. We need to keep a clean healthy space so people can continue to be active within sporting Communities

The facilities are a disgrace, outdated, not safe, no female toilets or change room. The condition of this facility is an embrassement to Lakes entrance community. We need this upgrade desperately for all the sporting clubs that access this facility.

An old change rooms that has a wobbly floor, no equitable area for male, female, juniors nor umpires The only recreation reserve in Lakes Entrance that has 7000 residents. Long overdue for the Lakes Entrance Community whom seem to been forgotten when it comes to sporting infrastructure. Lets make our only sports ground inviting for new and existing participants.

The amount of use this facility gets throughout the entire year, it is in desperate need of an upgrade, school groups, community events as well as the obvious sporting groups from Auskick to Senior Football and Net set Go to A Grade Netball is covered but without accommodating for young girls playing football and the netballers. I would hate to be an umpire getting ready for a game. It is a community hub and is something that we should all be proud of. Currently embarrassed by it's condition

Having used this facility as an umpire I must rate then as the worst rooms in Gippsland. They are in urgent need of restoration or replacement, especially with the increase of female umpires.

This project will be of great benefit to all the user groups of the reserve.

This sporting facility has serviced Lakes Entrance for many many years, and continues to do so. As a person with a physical disability I’d like to see these facilities upgraded to allow disabled access. This will be of great benefit to all of our community to bring diversity to the club and engaging more people with disabilities to participate in community sporting activities. Good luck!
