Solar panels and a roof to support the panels will help ease the burden of our power bill and help us become environmentally responsible. It will help us continue to provide facilities for our volunteers and members to participate in jewellery making, stone cutting and polishing workshops. We cater to all ages and have a membership that includes many retired folk who access all facilities and enjoy the company and support that the clubrooms afford. Member subscriptions fund workshop costs and we keep membership fees at a minimum so as not to discriminate against people on a cost basis.
Mordialloc Lapidary Club has a core group of talented award winning jewellers, silversmiths and gemmologists, who volunteer their time and expertise to teach members the satisfying hobby of fossicking, cutting, polishing, and setting stones, with the finished product being a piece of jewellery the community member can proudly call their own. Our volunteer tutors self-fund workshop expenses. Past and present students have gone on to contribute to the Club and many are award winning designers. Our Club is well respected in the Lapidary field and our volunteer tutors are sought after.

This place is a total gem! Pun intended xx
This Lapidary Club follows the footsteps of the gold rush fossickers from mid 1800's jumping ship here in the Bay to chase gold, or in our case to encourage ourselves and new generations to cut and polish and set in silver the beautiful rocks we have found, even if we didn't strike. We love you to come see.
A enthusiastic group in volunteering their time and resources in fostering a community spirit and deserve the support.
Awesome club, a great helpful community
I have heard such great things about this club. I believe that there is also a Gemfair coming up. Perhaps I should check their website.
A wonderful club with friendly, welcoming and talented members who are always ready to share their knowledge with others.
I joined the Club 4 years ago, looking for a local, meaningful, creative pursuit to learn new skills.
I found there a very supportive and friendly environment of a group of talented, voluntary mentors and fellow learners. We share and care for our modest, but safe workshop space, grateful for the professional equipment that has been acquired over the years, thanks to a very efficient management.
The Lapidary Club is of great benefit to our members and a proof of this community passion and self determination. The Club is a rare asset to the local Council in terms of community cultural development.
The project funds will assist in maintenance of the venue and will include our Club in being part of the environment sustainable future of the City of Kingston.

We are so glad you found us and thank you for your comments
I joined the club when I retired from teaching 4 years ago. I have had the fossicking bug since I studied geology at uni in the late 60's and decided to rekindle my interest. The club has been great and the friendliness and experience of the members has been fantastic. They give their time freely and I have formed some wonderful new friendships. A great club.
Thanks for you comment we all enjoy ourselves at our great club!!!
A wonderful cub which I joined last year after visiting their fascinating and inspiring GEMFAIR last October, and was warmly welcomed by all the members I met; enthusiastic and so willing to share their knowledge and skills. A great group of people involved at the Mordialloc Lapidary Club that are passionate and nurturing in their creative element, and in promoting this fascinating hobby to the public. A dedicated group in volunteering their time and resources in fostering a community spirit and deserve the support.
We are so pleased that you joined. Yes Gemfair is truly inspiring, I hope you can showcase something you have made for next Gemfair

A great club, our 13 year old is welcomed as we learn together all things about making beautiful pieces and learning amazing skills. Truely community minded where people from all lives can meet and share.
Ahh yes the younger members are like a breath of fresh air so ready to learn and experiment with new experiences, under the eye of safety conscious members. Thank you sharing your experience.
This club is what community is all about, being welcoming, supportive and helpful. There's so much you can learn or participate in and always someone willing to answer a question, help out if you are unsure or have a chat or laugh with at afternoon tea or supper.
Thanks Kimberely Yes and even if you know nothing about Lapidary you soon will... and enjoy your time learning thank you for you kind words.
This is a very welcoming and inclusive club with many wonderful members who give their time freely. We are almost entirely self-funded, with only and occasional council grant for updating our equipment. This project is a major undertaking to help us move into the future in a sustainable manner. We always welcome visitors to our club rooms.
Thanks Kerrie A successful Club like ours relies on good management and dedicated office bearers, we which have, not to mention a lot of talented tutors. A big thank you to the members that put in so much time and make it so enjoyable.
Great Club, friendly creative people with such a welcoming attitude. We have learnt so much so quickly. Thank you all so much
