The project will deliver a series of one to one interactions between community youth and seniors with the intention of improving cross generational relations.

Participants would be sourced and matched by local community group leaders such as teachers, priests and social workers.

The project will support the interaction through providing access to training materials. Learnings would be captured for future community use.

All conversation topics would cover content in which the youth participant has knowledge about but not life experience in. The senior participant would bring life experience to the conversation while learning about recent developments in the subject matter.

Today's youth have access to more information than previous generations but are becoming increasingly disconnected from our local community. This problem is most obvious when it comes to the relationships between youth and senior citizens.

Our elderly have priceless life experience to offer community youth; while youth have access to up to date information of interest to our seniors.

The initiative can help to foster the kind of community connections between youth and elderly that are fundamental for a successful society; and have been challenged through emerging trends of a rapid increase in technology, social media and big city living.
