Community Drone event

Airview Drone Images and The Central Ranges Trade Training Centre are working together to introduce drone technology to the Mitchell shire area. The Partnership would like to create four drone building workshops to create new skills for youth, unskilled and unemployed community members. For Pick My Project we would hold a minimum of four workshops in the community to build their own drones followed by a drones racing event. We hope to engage youth and the rural community in a new technology, and raise awareness of the benefits of drone technology to the productivity, prosperity and future employment opportunities.

The Partnership will encourage community organisations, ie scout groups, schools, sports clubs, individuals and local businesses, to attend the workshops and build their own racing drones. This will be a transfer of skills and knowledge to the people in the area. With the drones that have been built. The groups will then race these at a community event open to the public. This event will also showcase applications of drones in rural enterprises such as agriculture, horticulture and environmental sustainability.
