I will be running a series of workshops, events and leadership camps designed to strengthen our community through our cultural schools of learning. Our focus will be on four key health and wellbeing pillars: - physical; emotional; spiritual; and social development.

Our program is a Maori martial art form, which teaches cross-cultural values of respect, empowerment, self identity and leadership.

Included will be activities such as performing and creative arts, water and land based physical challenges targeting youth, adults, men and women from all different backgrounds, which will culminate in an end of project arts and community celebration event.

The project addresses some of the fundamental priorities within all communities such as positive mentoring, role modelling, activities that involve all the family and bring all cultures closer through shared understanding.

We aim to build upon existing relationships with other marginalised and disadvantaged groups, the local Aboriginal community and develop further partnerships with local government agencies, support organisations, schools and businesses.

By using a traditional village based method and nurturing a holistic approach towards self development, we hope to create stronger families, communities and leaders for the future, all under the vehicle of our martial art-form based around Frankston Shire.
